About this compound
MT1
MT1 is a synthetic linear analog of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), a 13-amino-acid peptide. Two substitutions distinguish it from the native sequence: norleucine replaces methionine at position 4 and D-phenylalanine replaces L-phenylalanine at position 7.
The peptide is N-acetylated and carries a C-terminal amide, matching the termini of native α-MSH. The D-Phe7 substitution confers resistance to enzymatic degradation in the literature.
It is used in melanocortin receptor binding and signaling research.
