About this compound

PT-141

PT-141 is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide analog of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. Like MT2 it is closed by a lactam bridge between aspartic acid and lysine side chains and contains norleucine and D-phenylalanine substitutions.

It differs from MT2 in one position: the C-terminus is a free carboxylic acid rather than an amide. The peptide is N-acetylated.

It is used in melanocortin receptor binding research, particularly at the MC4 receptor subtype.
