About this compound
NAD+
NAD+ is the oxidized form of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, a dinucleotide coenzyme in which nicotinamide riboside and adenosine monophosphate are joined through a pyrophosphate bridge. It is not a peptide.
The nicotinamide ring is the redox-active site: it accepts a hydride to form NADH in dehydrogenase reactions and serves as a substrate for sirtuins, poly(ADP-ribose) polymerases and CD38-family enzymes.
It is used in enzymology, redox assays and cofactor-dependent reaction studies.
Supplied for laboratory research use only. Not intended for human or animal administration.
